3ME is an artist based in Nagoya, Japan, working primarily with brass and silver to explore the concept of “wearable art.”

Jewelry pieces such as rings and ear cuffs are reimagined as elements of the human face and arranged individually within frames to form a single composition. In addition, the practice includes works made from leftover metal materials generated during the production process, reflecting an awareness of sustainability. By combining the distinctive textures of metal with monochromatic compositions, the work is constructed through the accumulation of small elements, moving fluidly between jewelry and fine art.

Since beginning this practice in 2016, an experience studying in the UK deepened an interest in color, leading from leather craft to metalwork and the current body of work. The artist has presented work in solo and group exhibitions at museums, art galleries, and cafés, and continues to expand the practice through department stores, hair salons, online platforms, and pop-up events.

3MEは名古屋を拠点に活動するアーティスト。真鍮やシルバーを用いたアクセサリー制作を軸に、「身に着けるアート」をテーマとした作品を展開している。

リングやイヤカフといった装身具を人の顔のパーツに見立て、それらを個別に額の中に配置し、一つの作品として見せるほか、制作過程で生じる金属の端材を用いたSDGsに配慮した作品にも取り組む。金属特有の質感とモノトーンの画面を組み合わせ、小さな要素の組み合わせによって画面を構成し、アクセサリーと美術作品のあいだを行き来する表現を試みている。

2016年より活動を開始。イギリス留学をきっかけに色彩への関心を深め、レザー制作を経て彫金へと展開し、現在の制作に至る。美術館、アートギャラリー、カフェでの個展やグループ展での発表を重ね、百貨店、ヘアサロン、オンライン販売やポップアップストアなどを通して作品を展開している。
